Mission: Wilson County Schools Exceptional Children Department is committed to providing a free and appropriate education designed to meet the individual needs of all exceptional students. 

Wilson County Schools Exceptional Children Department provides special education and related services according to IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act) and the laws set forth by North Carolina as detailed in the Procedures Governing Programs and Services for Children with Special Needs.  Wilson County Schools currently serves approximately 1200 students with special needs, ages 3 - 21.
