Shout Outs! 
- Winstead Elementary would like to recognize Math Specialist Katrina Cobb for her continued support and dedication to the advancement and success of all students. She is gifted in knowing how to relate to and work with students from all aspects of life. 

- Daniels Learning Center Principal Leon Dupree would like to thank Health and PE Teacher Jeff Winbush for coordinating a successful first annual Field Day on May 22. Additional thanks to the entire staff for making the event memorable and congratulations to CTE Teacher Evonne Dantzler who was crowned the first Milton M. Daniels Field Day Champion!

- Special thanks to Fike High College Advisor Taylor Price for being such a tremendous asset to the counseling center and school. She recently organized Decision Day to celebrate the seniors' decisions regarding college and military plans. She also wrote a great article for UNC-Chapel Hill about the event.

Montarious B., a student at Forest Hills Middle, competed in the North Carolina Special Olympic Games this past weekend. He won a silver medal in the 100-meter relay, a bronze medal in the long jump, and his team won the bronze in the 4X100 meter relay. 

- In memory of Virginia Forsythe, who passed away a few weeks ago, her first-grade class at Vinson-Bynum Elementary donated books to the school's library. Mrs. Forsythe was a retired teacher from Vinson-Bynum and was serving as a part-time interim teacher at the time of her death. 

- Special thanks to all of the restaurants who catered meals at no cost for the Rightway Cafe lunches this school year. Dr. Bulson and a Wilson County Board of Education Member would eat lunch with students and staff at each school who had been recognized for good character. The restaurants included the following: Burger Boy, Subway of Brentwood, Olive Garden, Pizza Inn, Creamery, Domino's, Hwy 55, Aggie’s, Primo’s, Something Different, Buffalo Wild Wings, Moe’s, Wayback Burgers, Kountry Kitchen, Chick-fil-A, Chippers, Golden Corral, Gateway Convention Center, Jersey Mike's and Heroes. 

- Congratulations to two administrators who will be retiring - Suzette Miller, principal of Vinson-Bynum Elementary, and Wynn Smith, executive director of technology. Thank you both so much for your many years of service to WCS! Enjoy your retirement! 

- In just a few weeks time, Angela Nance's AVID Class at Hunt High collected 199 items to donate to Woodmen of the World for its Hunger Relief Day on June 27. The organization was thankful for their generosity. 

- Special thanks to Stocks Photography for making our WCS Teacher and Principal of the Year feel special and comfortable during their photo shoot. Congrats again to Laura Nelson and Pattie Barnes! 

- The WCS Summer Conference is almost here so make sure you register if you are a WCS employee. The dates are June 15-17 at Fike High from 8:15 a.m.-4:15 p.m. Register through NCEES or onsite and remember to bring your own device. Shout Out! to the members of the WCS Organizational Development Department for all of their hard work!

- Ginger Kelly-Bissette's kindergarten class at Rock Ridge would like to give a Shout-Out! to Walter Earle, Wilson County Extension Director. Mr. Earle came for a question and answer session on farm animals. The students learned quite a bit about cows, pigs, goats and lambs. We think Mr. Earle learned a lot about kindergarten too! 

- Fike High would like to thank Stephen Shimel, WCS Accountability Coordinator, for all of his assistance with student data information this year!

- Beddingfield High Assistant Principal Daniel Barnes would like to thank Joseph Hayes, technology facilitator, for his leadership and dedication during Chromebook collection and testing. Mr. Hayes made sure teachers got to use the Chromebooks as long as possible and assisted students with various tasks. He even got to school at 6 a.m. to start logging in students for testing.  

- Forest Hills Middle Principal Cheryl Baggett would like to thank her 8th grade team of Sunil Dutt, Dana Crocker, Sandra Tipps, Sheri Sammons, Ben Ellis and Craig Adams, for a FABULOUS 8th grade graduation and awards ceremony.

Lee Woodard Elementary wanted to recognize Linda Baker for her many years of service as a teacher assistant and bus driver. The school had a retirement celebration for her yesterday. Best wishes!
