DONATIONS

Wilson County Schools (WCS) is pleased to extend an early partnership opportunity with businesses, nonprofits and individuals as we plan our annual backpack drive - Operation Backpack. For the past five years, we have been able to distribute 3,000+ backpacks to our students in need because of generous donations from our community. We hope that you will join us in supporting our students again this year.

In the past, we have held a Back-to-School Fair with bounce houses, a dj and entertainment. The backpacks were also distributed to students in need. This year, we are focusing solely on the backpack distribution and will use all of the funds that are generously donated to purchase backpacks and school supplies. Families in need will be able to pick up the backpacks at our Operation Backpack event on Aug. 12, 2017, at Darden Middle School from 9-11 a.m.

Please support our students by becoming a backpack sponsor. There are several ways you can help:

  • Donate backpacks and school supplies. Our neediest students will receive backpacks at the event on a first-come, first-serve basis. See the attached flyer for more information about the deadline for donating backpacks and the drop-off location.
  • Make a tax-deductible, monetary donation to be used for purchasing backpacks and supplies.

Please complete the attached form to let us know the level of commitment that you can provide. We appreciate your support and look forward to working together to make this event successful!
