The WilsonShines committee has selected seven performances for the 2015 WilsonShines concert. Congratulations to the performers! The purpose of WilsonShines is to highlight groups within our school system and community. Teachers are encouraged to collaborate with community groups, school administrators, other teachers or parents to produce a one-of-a-kind performance that allows students to shine! The event is scheduled for April 2 at 7 p.m. at Fike High as a fundraiser for Communities In Schools.

2015 Wilson Shines Performances:
** Lucama and Lee Woodard Elementary fourth- and fifth-grade choruses featuring Communities in Schools staff members under the direction of Music Teacher Jana Winders

** Springfield Middle Vocal Ensemble and Springfield Middle World Drummers featuring high school dancers under the direction of Chorus Teacher Emily Kicklighter and Band Teacher Jairod Barnes

** Winstead and Vick Elementary students in the chorus, art club and step team; Winstead and Vick Elementary teachers and administrators; the Hunt High Band Ensemble; and community members from several churches, The Landing and the Wilson Police Department under the direction of Music Teacher Tia Marcell

** Vinson-Bynum Elementary Dance Team in collaboration with Vinson-Bynum staff under the direction of Art Teacher Demetrius Smith 

** Hunt High Dance Team, Hunt High Dance Instructor Shannon Carr and Hunt High Percussion under the direction of Shannon Carr

** Toisnot Middle and Fike High students who play wind instruments under the direction of Toisnot Band Director Jordan Webb

** Whirli-Kidz Sing (featuring 14 elementary schools) and local artists under the direction of Music Teacher Coley Rhodes
