Breakfast in the Classroom Survey back button

Beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, School Nutrition Services embarked in a new initiative to serve breakfast to our elementary students in the classroom. Our goal was to capture all students with the opportunity of a healthy, nourishing breakfast prior to daily instruction. Recent studies have shown that when schools provide an in-classroom breakfast, students will increase in academic performance, decreased absenteeism and tardiness, increased attention span and focus and reduced visits to the school nurse because of hunger. This new method has already proven to be successful - beginning with August 2014 and comparing each succeeding month to prior school years, elementary breakfast participation has increased by 30 percent!

Given the very positive health and academic benefits of breakfast consumption, your voice is important to obtaining continued improvements and success to this program. Please fill out this quick survey and let School Nutrition Services know how the program is operating at your school.

Thank you for your time, interest and assistance,
Cindy Bailey, Director
School Nutrition Services
