Superintendent Takes Oath of Office back button

Lane B. Mills took the oath of office on Fri., July 1 to begin his duties as the new superintendent for Wilson County Schools. Wilson County Schools Executive Director of Administrative Services Glen Davis, who is a notary, administered the oath while Wilson County Board of Education Chair Dr. Christine Fitch assisted.

Dr. Mills is no stranger to Wilson County Schools having served as assistant superintendent for accountability and technology from 1997-2007. Prior to coming back to Wilson, Dr. Mills was the superintendent for Craven County Schools for four and a half years.

"I am committed to engaging students, staff and community members to create a relentless focus on success,” Dr. Mills said. “I will remain approachable and available to the community and schools in every possible way. This is not a job for me, but a calling.”
