Swimming Lessons

Thanks to the Wilson Recreation Department and the Wilson YMCA, every second-grader in our 14 elementary schools has the chance to participate in a week of swimming lessons! This is the second year the lessons have been offered. Swimming is an important life skill - especially for children. Drowning is the second leading cause of death in children ages 5-14.

Revised Traditional Calendar

On Jan. 14, the Board of Education voted to adjust the traditional calendar to stay within calendar requirements set by the state. The biggest change is that Feb. 18 is now a regular school day for students (it was a Teacher Workday). The day has been added to make up for the day missed because of snow on December 10.
