The Gentlemen's Agreement (our mentoring/enrichment program for African American high school males) and the Wilson Area School Based Health Center (our school-based health center located at Forest Hills MS and open to students and staff) were both featured today by Education NC. Shout Out! to everyone involved in these two programs!

WEP Awards Mini-Grants

WCS is grateful to the Wilson Education Partnership (WEP) for awarding mini-grants to 23 of our educators! The grants ranged from $57 to $1,000 (which was the highest amount that could be awarded) for a grand total of $14,000 back into our schools.

Sportsmanship is Paramount

Participating in athletics is an important part of the overall school experience for many students in Wilson County Schools. Beginning at the middle-school level and culminating with the final game of their senior year, our students have an opportunity to participate in a wide variety of sports. Our student-athletes create lifelong memories and learn valuable lessons that prepare them for the challenges and successes that will come their way in life.

Dictionary Donation

Shout Out! to the Wilson Rotary Club for its annual project to provide our third-graders with dictionaries. Pictured is Rotarian Kent Montgomery with students in Ms. Cox's class at New Hope ES. The students were excited about their new dictionaries.
