Good Evening,
The following announcements are for the week of September 4th through September 8th. School is closed on Monday, September 4th for Labor Day, we look forward to having students and staff back at Gardners Elementary on Tuesday. Tuesday is Gardners Elementary Independence Day, parents will no longer walk their students into the building to class. We will have all available staff on the car lot to assist with opening doors for students and ushering them out of the car and into the building. The building will also have adequate supervision to ensure your student arrives at the correct classroom on time. A dental clinic sponsored by the Wilson Health Department is being held at Gardners Elementary on Wednesday; flyers were sent home at the open house or with students this week. Please remember to return the permission slip if you would like your student to participate. The mClass reading assessment beginning of the year assessment will start on Tuesday for all K-3 students. All 3rd-grade students will take the beginning of the year reading assessment on Wednesday. All students will participate in a lockdown drill on Tuesday and a shelter-in-place drill on Thursday. We will announce this drill to students before it occurs and review all safety procedures with them. The PTO is collecting used shoes as part of our PTO fundraiser. We have binds set up in multiple locations in the school; please send in any shoes you would like to donate to help our PTO earn money to support our teachers during the school year. Thank you for a great first week of the school year and your continued support of Gardners Elementary.
Will Pope, Principal
Buenas Tardes,
Gracias,
Director Escolar,
