COVID-19 Information

Face coverings are optional for students, staff, and guests in our schools or district buildings. Per CDC order, face coverings are not required on school buses and vehicles operated or contracted by WCS. 

Please contact the Wilson County Health Department at (252) 360-0500 or visit their website, located here, for vaccination appointments. You can visit YourSpotYourShot.nc.gov for more information and to find a free vaccination site in your area.

The Wilson Area School-Based Health Centers (WASH) provide accessible and affordable physical and preventive health services to students and staff. 

• Open to all WCS staff and WCS students. 

• Diagnostic testing is conducted for those who have COVID-19 symptoms or have had close contact with someone who is COVID-19 positive. Close contact is defined as closer than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes cumulative over a 24 hour period. Please call 252-360-0769 for appointments. 

• Staff and students can be tested at four locations by appointment:

• Beddingfield High School

• Fike High School

• Forest Hills Middle School

• Hunt High School

Any individual should not enter a WCS facility if they are feeling sick. Parents should monitor their children for symptoms before allowing them to enter a school or board a bus. Staff and guests on campus should self-monitor for symptoms. You should not enter a WCS facility if you are: 

• Instructed to quarantine by the Wilson County Health Department or any other medical official
• Sick or experiencing any of these symptoms of illness:
  • Fever (100.4 or higher) or chills 
  • Cough 
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing 
  • Fatigue 
  • Muscle or body aches 
  • Headache 
  • New loss of taste or smell 
  • Sore throat 
  • Congestion or runny nose 
  • Nausea or vomiting 
  • Diarrhea
