Operation Backpack

At the event, free backpacks will be available to students in need on a first come, first serve basis. We love our students, and are grateful to the community for donating backpacks in order to help them start the year off with the materials that they need. Our goal is to have 3,000 backpacks.

How to Donate
If you would like to donate backpacks, supplies or money, please fill out and submit the Operation Backpack Supporter Form. If possible, backpacks should be 17 inches tall and filled with a box of crayons, six pencils, two pens, two highlighters, one pencil pouch, one 3-ring binder, one pack of filler paper, two pocket folders and two spiral notebooks. Backpacks can be dropped off at Fike HS Monday-Thursday between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. The dropoff deadline is Aug. 1. If you would like to donate funds, checks should be made payable to Wilson County Schools. In the memo line, please indicate "WCS Operation Backpack" and submit with the Backpack Supporter Form.

How to Receive a Backpack
In order to receive a backpack, students must attend one of our 26 public schools and parents will need to bring their child with them to Operation Backpack. Doors open at 7 a.m. for those who would like to arrive early and the distribution begins at 9 a.m. We are hoping to seat families who arrive early in the auditorium at Fike. Families need to arrive together in order to be seated together.

We are grateful to all of the individuals and businesses who have donated backpacks or funds at this time! The growing list of donors is attached!
