Name Change

If I need to change my name, what is the documentation process that I need to follow?

You will need to request a social security card with your new name on it from the Social Security Administration. Upon receipt of your social security card, contact Human Resource Services to schedule a time to complete the name change process. Your new name will be changed in most but not necessarily all programs used by WCS. Your email address will change, and your name will be changed in HRMS, the state licensure database and in payroll. Your name will also be changed in the NCEES (Educator Evaluation System), but your UID and password will remain the same. If you also use other programs and logins, your name and/or login may not necessarily be updated. The NC Education site, for example, is an outside resource with a personal login, so you would need to make those changes yourself.
