Mr. Mark Holmes

This is my 4th year teaching English after completing a 35 year career in the newspaper and new media industries. I hold an undergraduate degree in Journalism with a concentration in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I was fortunate to finish with athletic academic honors (Men's Tennis) in 1987. I completed my post graduate studies at East Carolina University with ECU's Educator in Residency Model finishing Magna Cum Laude (3.84 GPA) in 2022. It is my goal to help your child excel in English Language Arts at the high school level through writing and speaking as one can never truly master these skills. In doing so, these skills will serve as a launching pad for success wherever their interests may lead them in their future endeavors.
