I am a proud native of Bertie County. I hold an undergraduate degree from North Carolina Central University, a Master's Degree from East Carolina University and  Masters of Educational Leadership Degree from Capella University and a professional teaching license from the state of North Carolina.   I have been a proud educator for the past twenty-eight years.  For the previous eight  years, I have had the privilege of serving the Wilson County School System, parents and students as the  Assistant Principal at Charles H. Darden Middle (3 years) and James B. Hunt High School (3 years) and Principal of Milton M. Daniels (2.5 years).   Prior to that time, I was a middle school mathematics teacher in Nash and Halifax County Schools.

I am excited to lead the Speight Cougar Family as we strive daily to make learning our main focus.

Born and raised in Moncks Corner, SC, I graduated from The College of Charleston in 1993 with a degree in English. One of my two sons is deaf, so we relocated our family several times to North Carolina and then Missouri to find appropriate services to support him with his cochlear implant. I've been a classroom English teacher for 24 years in eight different schools and three different school districts. In 2017, I left the classroom to be a district-level instructional coach to support teachers. My master's is in Educational Technology from Webster University in Webster Groves, Missouri. My administrative add-on license was obtained through Gardner-Webb University.

I have been married to Brent Noel since 1993. In addition to our sons, we have dogs, cats, and chickens. I am excited to be a Speight Cougar!
