We want to remind 11th-grade families that North Carolina requires certain vaccines for students entering the 12th grade. Students must receive these vaccines to continue enrollment in public schools. The vaccines do not include the COVID-19 vaccine. Current juniors can receive these vaccines at any time between now and the beginning of next school year. Your student should have received a letter with more details. Vaccination appointments are available at our Wilson Area School Health Centers (WASH) Centers. While the centers are located at Forest Hills Middle, Beddingfield High, Fike High and Hunt High, any Wilson County Schools student can be seen at the clinics. Call 252-360-0769 for an appointment and details on how to become a WASH patient. WASH will also be planning immunization clinics at the schools that do not have a WASH Center. WASH provides accessible and affordable physical and preventive health services to students and staff; and serves both the insured and uninsured.
-
And finally, a reminder of the WCS Parent Survey. If you have not completed one, please take a few minutes to do so. You will find the link to the online survey, which is titled WCS 2022-2023 Parent Survey, on our district website under News, on our district social media sites, or by clicking HERE. Thank you in advance for sharing your feedback with us.

Over the next several days, our bus routes may be off a little as the drivers will now be running the routes for the traditional schools prior to running our routes. It could result in buses running a few minutes later than normal until the schedules are refined. We appreciate your cooperation with this.

Good evening WAAT families! We wanted to share some important information with you regarding school-related fees. You may be eligible for a fee waiver for technology fees, Driver Education fees, and testing fees such as SAT and ACT. If you have received a letter from our School Nutrition office stating that your student qualifies for free/reduced lunch, you can provide this letter to your student’s school and the fees mentioned above will be waived. If you have not received a letter but believe your family is eligible for free or reduced meals, you must complete an application. The application is available online now at www.wilsonschoolsnc.net under district news or at www.myschoolapps.com.
You should complete this application as soon as possible because it takes School Nutrition approximately 10 business days to process applications. If you complete an application, a letter will be mailed to you regarding your meal status. This letter can be submitted to the school for fees to be waived. School Nutrition cannot share free/reduced information with school staff, so you must submit the letter to the school. If you have any questions regarding this process, you can contact School Nutrition at 252-399-7849 ext. 8534.
