Good evening.  This is Mr. Lyndon, Principal of WAAT. I am calling to share some important dates and information.

    • Tomorrow night, Monday, September 26th at 6:00 is our next PTSO Meeting.  We will meet in the BHS Media Center.  We hope you can come out to join us as we discuss opportunities to support the mission and vision of WAAT.  One of the items on the agenda is to finalize the slate of nominations for PTSO officers and hold a vote for those offices.  Information about the nominations can be found on the WAAT website at waat.wilsonschoolsnc.net  Click to the PTSO tab under “For Students & Parents”

    • This past week, you received a message from the district about a bus tracking app that will give families real-time bus location information and alerts. The app is called “Here Comes the Bus” and it is free. Simply download the “Here Comes the Bus” app from the App Store or Google Play store, create a secure account and add your students. The app is available in English, Spanish and French. To create an account, you will need the Wilson County Schools code, which is 13509, and the Student ID number. If your student does not know their ID number, contact the school for that information. If you do not have a smartphone or tablet, you can create an account through the Here Comes the Bus website on a laptop or desktop computer. More information about the “Here Comes the Bus” app can be found on our district website - wilsonschoolsnc.net - under News or Transportation Department. Should you need assistance, contact the Transportation Department at 399-7839.

    • Finally, we are quickly coming up on the end of our nine-week grading period.  We are encouraging our students to make sure they have completed and submitted all assignments so they can be scored and students can receive credit for them.

Thank you and have a great evening.

    Good evening!

This is Mr. Lyndon, principal of WAAT. I am calling to share some important dates and information.

    • This is a gentle reminder that it is important to have our students bring their device to school, fully charged, each day.  We appreciate your support in this.
    • Over the next several days, our bus routes may be off a little as the drivers will now be running the routes for the traditional schools prior to running our routes.  It could result in buses running a few minutes later than normal until the schedules are refined.  We appreciate your cooperation with this.

    • The transportation Department has informed us that Bus 185 will be running in place of Bus 221 Monday morning.  If your student rides bus 221, please make them aware of this change.

    • I want to encourage all students to check their Google Classrooms regularly for updates and communications.

    • We are providing a reminder that WAAT has scheduled an opportunity for our 2022-2023 graduates to have their senior pictures made.  The date for senior pictures is this Wednesday, August 31st.  Students have been emailed information on how to schedule an appointment for their picture session.  Students must have an appointment scheduled prior to the 31st.

    • Our PTSO met this past Monday and opened nominations for officers for the 2022-2023 school year.  Those nominations are posted on our website.  If you have additional nominations to suggest, please feel free to do so.  The PTSO will hold elections for officers at their next meeting on September 26th at 6:00.

    August 3, 2022

Good evening WAAT families!  We wanted to share some important information with you regarding school-related fees.  You may be eligible for a fee waiver for technology fees, Driver Education fees, and testing fees such as SAT and ACT.  If you have received a letter from our School Nutrition office stating that your student qualifies for free/reduced lunch, you can provide this letter to your student’s school and the fees mentioned above will be waived.  If you have not received a letter but believe your family is eligible for free or reduced meals, you must complete an application. The application is available online now at www.wilsonschoolsnc.net under district news or at www.myschoolapps.com.

You should complete this application as soon as possible because it takes School Nutrition approximately 10 business days to process applications.  If you complete an application, a letter will be mailed to you regarding your meal status.  This letter can be submitted to the school for fees to be waived.  School Nutrition cannot share free/reduced information with school staff, so you must submit the letter to the school.  If you have any questions regarding this process, you can contact School Nutrition at 252-399-7849 ext. 8534.
