I grew up near Buffalo, NY then decided to go south for college. I attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and earned my Bachelors degree in Elementary and Special Education. I then began my teaching career in Friendship, NY teaching middle school special needs students at the resource level. After two long cold winters, I decided to move south and landed in Clayton, NC. I taught for four years in Johnston county teaching at the Middle and Elementary level. A great opportunity to teach in Wilson County schools came available at Beddingfield High School working in the self-contained AU classroom. After ten years at Beddingfield, I then moved to Daniels Learning Center for one year working with all ages of special needs students and students unable to attend school due to medical issues. Six years ago I then moved to Forest Hills Middle School to work in the cross-categorical self-contained classroom. This is my first year back at Beddingfield and I am so excited to be back home.

When school is not in session I spend time with my family in Ohio and New York as well as travel and see parts of the world I have yet to see.
