Kindergarten Registration
We are excited to welcome your kindergartner to Wilson County Schools!
The online registration period opened on March 1, 2026.
Parents with children who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2026, should register their child during districtwide Kindergarten Registration on March 5, 2026, or anytime prior to the first day of school August 24, 2026. Registration should be completed online if possible. Listed below are the steps and the registration requirements. Paper copies are also available at any of our schools. If you need assistance in determining which school your child will be attending, visit Locate My School or contact the Transportation Department at 252-399-7839.

Kindergarten Registration Requirements
- Child must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2026
- These documents are required for registration:
- Certified Birth Certificate
- Parent/Guardian ID
- Two (2) proofs of physical address (These documents are acceptable if they show the current residential address: property tax records, copy of a residential lease, copy of utility bill, copy of current driver's license, copy of voter registration, copy of automobile registration).
- Immunization record
- Current Health Assessment

Kindergarten Assessment
An assessment of your kindergartner will take place during Kindergarten Registration. Please complete the online registration and then contact your child’s school to schedule a kindergarten assessment appointment and submit the required documents.
