PowerSchool Cybersecurity Incident

Wilson County Schools has been informed of a statewide cybersecurity incident impacting student and teacher data stored in PowerSchool, our Student Information System. PowerSchool shared that the threat has been contained, and the compromised data was not shared. Wilson County Schools is working with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) and PowerSchool to verify which data fields were involved and further action steps needed. In the coming days, impacted students and staff will receive notification. NCDPI has shared that there is nothing Wilson County Schools could have done to prevent this incident, and we are taking all steps needed to ensure the safety of student and staff data.
