Principal of the Year Nominations

Wilson County Schools is pleased to announce that it is time to begin the selection process for the 2026-2027 Wilson County Schools Principal of the Year (POY). The WCS POY will be  selected this spring, and the winner will be announced at the end of the 2025-2026 school year. 

A candidate for the Wells Fargo Principal of the Year: 

• Must hold a valid Principal’s License; and
• Must be a current Principal in a North Carolina public school, with two years of experience as a Principal in Wilson County Schools; and
• Must have at least four years of experience as an administrator (years may be a combination of Assistant Principal, Principal, and Central Office experience); and
• Must be employed as a school administrator throughout the POY selection process and be able to serve during the 2026-2027 school year.

Please take a moment to nominate one of our amazing principals. Nominations can be submitted using the Principal of the Year Nomination Form or you can submit a handwritten letter accompanied with the cover sheet found at the link (you will need to make a copy of the cover sheet to type on it - File > Make a copy). 

The Office of Human Resource Services must receive all nominations and the accompanying cover sheet by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026. A cover sheet is not needed if the nomination is submitted via the Google Form.
