Required Immunizations

As the new school year approaches, please be aware of North Carolina’s immunization and health assessment requirements for certain students. If records are not submitted by the 30-day deadline, students will NOT be allowed to attend school until documentation is received, per state law.

โœ… Who needs updated immunization records?

  • Kindergartners
  • 7th graders
  • 12th graders
  • Students attending an NC public school for the first time

(This includes students enrolled in Wilson Academy of Virtual Education)

๐Ÿ“… Deadline:

Records must be submitted within 30 calendar days of the first day of school:

  • Early Colleges first day of school: August 4
  • Traditional Schools first day of school: August 25

๐Ÿ“„ Health Assessments Required:

  • For all kindergartners and first-time NC public school students
  • Must be completed by a medical provider
  • Accepted if dated within one year before the first day of school

๐Ÿ’‰ COVID-19 vaccines are NOT part of the required immunizations.
