Wilson County Schools is fortunate to have two Pre-Kindergarten options - Title I Pre-K and NC Pre-K. We can't wait to welcome your child into our programs!
TITLE I PRE-K
Is your child 4 years old or will they turn 4 before August 31, 2024? If so, they are eligible for the WCS FREE Title I Pre-K Program at Hearne, Lucama or Jones Elementary. At this time, we are accepting applications for the program at Lucama Elementary and will open up the process at the other schools next month. Title I Pre-K Registration Requirements:
- Certified Birth Certificate
- 2 Proofs of Residency (Current Water, Gas, Electric bill, or Lease agreement or Statement from homeowner)
- Immunization Records
- If applicable, documentation of chronic health and/or developmental or educational needs and/or IEP.

NC PRE-K
The NC Pre-Kindergarten Program is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 school year.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
- Children who will be 4 yrs. old on or before August 31, 2024
- Families whose gross income is at or below 75% of the State median income level
- Priority will be given to families who meet the following criteria:
- Children who have limited English proficiency
- Children who have a parent or guardian serving active duty in the military
- Children who are not enrolled in a childcare program
- Children who are not enrolled in a subsidy program
