Members of the Wilson County Board of Education and Wilson County Board of Commissioners toured the new Wilson Academy of Applied Technology (WAAT) building on Nov. 2 along with WCS and county leaders. The building is currently under construction by Barnhill and Holt Brothers and on track to be completed in February 2023. The goal is for the WAAT students and staff to transition into the new building after Spring Break in March 2023. The officials were amazed as they toured the classrooms, labs, technology center and multipurpose areas in the spacious 85,000-square-foot building. They even got a chance to see the crew installing the gym floor. The project is a true testament to the strong partnership between WCS, Wilson County Government and Wilson Community College.
