Helene Recovery Donations for Western North Carolina
Wilson County Schools is supporting the relief efforts in Western North Carolina by focusing on the schools that were most impacted by Tropical Storm Helene. We are suggesting that anyone interested in assisting those affected by the storm consider making a financial donation to the Western North Carolina Schools Helene Recovery Fund through the Western Region Education Service Alliance (WRESA) or the Northwest Region Education Service Alliance (NWRESA).
Donations will help address various challenges the students and staff in these school districts are facing, which include loss of housing, supplies and technology, as well as damage to school facilities caused by the storm's winds and water. The school systems in the Western North Carolina region will be able to request funds from WRESA or NWRESA to assist with these urgent needs, ensuring that students can continue their education and staff can perform their roles effectively despite the hardships. This support will be vital in helping the community recover and rebuild after the storm. The deadline to make a donation is Dec. 7, 2024. Company and individual donations are welcome.
