Shout Out! to the Wilson Education Partnership mini-grants to 25 of our teachers in 13 schools, which benefitted more than 4,200 students! The mini-grants funded a variety of projects - a total investment of close to $17,000. This amount is more than double what was provided last year. A Prize Patrol recently surprised the winners in their schools. The grants are made possible by contributions to WEP’s adult spelling bee & trivia tournament, the Pumpkin Prince contest and the annual appeal. Thanks to Southern Bank for partnering with WEP to fulfill three of the grants totalling $2,000. Teachers apply for mini-grant funding, and a committee selects the winners based on creativity, the number of students served, sustainability, crossover between classes and overall writing of the grant request.
