Required Immunizations

Certain immunizations are required by state law for kindergartners, seventh-graders, seniors, and students new to attending school in North Carolina, such as Tdap and MMR, unless students have an exemption. Students in the Wilson Academy of Virtual Education (WAVE) must also provide proof of receiving the mandatory immunizations. The required immunizations do not include the COVID-19 vaccine.

Families, please make sure your student has the necessary immunizations if you haven’t done so already. We also need you to provide the school with a copy of your student’s valid immunization record. Kindergarten students also need a Health Assessment Form completed by a doctor. Health assessments dated within one year prior to the first day of school will be accepted.

If the school does not have your student's immunization record and/or health assessment within 30 calendar days of enrollment, which for most students is Sept. 27, state law prohibits the student from being allowed to attend school beginning Sept. 28. Once your student receives the immunizations and the school is provided proof, the student will be able to return to school. The immunization record and/or health assessment can be dropped off at the school or uploaded electronically into your Scribs account. If you have not created a Scribs account, go to Enrollment in the headings at the top of the page or click HERE. Directions are provided to create your Scribs account.

Please call your student’s doctor to schedule an appointment if your student does not have updated immunizations. Families can also schedule an appointment at our Wilson County Schools WASH Clinics located at Forest Hills Middle, Beddingfield High, and Hunt High by calling 252-360-0769 or at the Wilson County Health Department by calling 252-237-3141.
