Required Immunizations for 7th and 12th Graders

Message for Families of 6th and 11th Grade Students: North Carolina mandates that all 7th and 12th grade students receive required vaccines to continue enrollment in public schools. The vaccines do not include the COVID-19 vaccine. Current 6th and 11th graders can receive these vaccines at any time between now and the beginning of next school year. Your student should have received a letter at school with more details.

Vaccination appointments are available at our Wilson Area School Health Centers or WASH Centers. While the centers are located at Forest Hills Middle, Beddingfield High, Fike High and Hunt High, any Wilson County Schools student can be seen at the clinics. If your student attends a school with a WASH Center, they can receive the vaccines during the school day after a consent form is completed. If your student does not attend one of those schools, call 252-360-0769 for an appointment and details on how to become a WASH patient. WASH will also be planning immunization clinics at the schools that do not have a WASH Center. As a reminder, the WASH Centers are open during the summer for immunizations, well child visits, sick visits and sports physicals. WASH provides accessible and affordable physical and preventive health services to students and staff; and serves both the insured and uninsured. WASH bills private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare and has a sliding scale fee for non-insured. Thank you and have a good night.
