The Wilson County Board of Education meets Mon., March 17 at 6:30 p.m. at Central Office for its regular monthly meeting.

We are excited to welcome your kindergartner to Wilson County Schools! Parents with children who will be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2025, should register their child during districtwide Kindergarten Registration in March or anytime prior to the first day of school August 25, 2025. Registration should be completed online if possible. 

The online application process is now open for students in grades 5-11 who are interested in attending the Wilson Academy of Virtual Education (or WAVE) for the 2025-2026 school year. To learn more, attend the Virtual Information Meeting on March 5 at 6 p.m.

Wilson County Schools provides students with the opportunity to seek reassignment to a school based on criteria established by the Board of Education. The NC Pre-Kindergarten Program is accepting applications for the 2025-2026 school year.

It's time to begin the selection process for the 2025-2026 Wilson County Schools Principal of the Year. The Principal of the Year will be selected this spring, and the winner will be announced at the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Anyone in the community can make a nomination.

Students in grades 3-12 will take the Panorama Survey beginning the week of Feb. 24. Families have the option to opt-out your student from taking the survey by completing an online form prior to Feb. 14.

Based on the latest weather forecast from the National Weather Service and guidance from Wilson County Emergency Management, schools and offices will be closed Wed., Jan. 22 for all students and staff across the district, including Central Office.

Wilson County Schools will operate on a regular schedule for Tues., Jan. 21 during the school day. However, all afterschool activities and athletics are canceled. Also, the Afterschool Care Program will not operate. 

WCS is now accepting Spanish Immersion applications for the 2025-2026 school year for incoming kindergartners.

Wilson County Schools has been informed of a statewide cybersecurity incident impacting student and teacher data stored in PowerSchool, our Student Information System.

Based on the latest weather forecast briefing from the National Weather Service and in conjunction with guidance from Wilson County Emergency Management, Wilson County Schools will release students early tomorrow - Fri., Jan. 10 - following our normal early release schedule for schools.
